Focused Light: Using art to Reconnect
About us
Using creativity, connection, and community to support male survivors.
Focused Light is a survivor-led community organisation offering creative workshops, shared spaces, and opportunities for connection for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Through photography, art, woodland activities, writing, painting, conversation, and communal creative practice, we create safe spaces where survivors can reconnect with themselves and others at their own pace.

Why These Spaces Matter

Many male survivors live in silence for years, often feeling isolated, disconnected, or unable to speak openly about their experiences.
Focused Light was created to offer something different, spaces built around understanding, creativity, and community rather than pressure or expectation.
There is no requirement to disclose personal experiences or take part in any activity. Some people come to create, some come to talk, and some simply come to be around others who understand.
Focused Light
Survivor-Led & Peer-Informed
“There is no pressure to share personal experiences.”
“People can engage in whatever way feels comfortable to them.”
“Workshops are designed around understanding, safety, and connection.”
“Creativity is used as a way of reconnecting rather than performing.”
“Everyone arrives with different experiences and at different stages.”
Empowering opportunities in the Recovery Journey.
Focused Light believes survivors deserve spaces where they can feel safe, understood, and connected without pressure to explain themselves.
Through creativity, conversation, shared experiences, and community, we are working to break isolation and build meaningful connection.
